According to Technical Corporal [REDACTED] [T/4 BLUE], the play was bought from a small circle of French and Italian refugees in London when he first arrived in-country. The text was printed on mimeographed sheets, damaged on the first and third act, but readable in essence. [T/4 BLUE] was fully aware of previous criminal findings in regard to the play in New York and Philadelphia, and willfully and with malice kept the text regardless. He offered a defense of not knowing whether it was actually technically illegal under British law, but admitted under further questioning that he was aware that he was still under the jurisdiction of US military law. Further, he concealed the text from myself and Lt [REDACTED] [Lt ICEWHITE] while in our Glasgow domicile.
The text was in French, with some errors and colloquialisms that indicated it was written in the south of the country. I read only enough to verify that it was the play in question before providing the full text to Lt [ICEWHITE] for review and sequestering for Headquarters custody, as per OSS Directive [REDACTED]. It was… Technical Corporal [T/4 BLUE] got what he deserved. He never should have brought that into combat operations. We have enough evil about us, now, no use looking for extra from home.
